Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Lead development of locomotion and real-time motion control systems for advanced legged robots.
- Design and implement nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC), Whole-Body Control (WBC), and reinforcement learning based locomotion policies.
- Develop and validate algorithms for gait transitions, obstacle negotiation, dynamic balance, and sim-to-real transfer on physical robots.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- At least 8 years of practical experience in robotics, motion control, legged locomotion, or closely related field.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ including C++20 and hands-on experience with MPC, nonlinear optimization, and Whole-Body Control.
- Experience with real-time Linux systems (PREEMPT_RT), motor controller communication protocols such as CAN-FD and EtherCAT, and robotics simulation environments like NVIDIA Isaac Lab or Isaac Gym.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in leading complex robotics engineering projects focused on legged locomotion and dynamic control systems.
- Skilled at integrating control algorithms with physical hardware across multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, embedded, and perception engineers.
- Proficient in model-based control methods combined with simulation and reinforcement learning to enable reliable robot mobility in unstructured environments.
