About This Role
- Own and lead the technical design and delivery of your squad’s backend services and systems, ensuring they are scalable and maintain high production quality.
- Write production code regularly as a key contributor while mentoring engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and pairing.
- Be responsible end to end for production quality including instrumentation, incident response, root cause analysis, and technical debt reduction.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience building and running production software used by real customers.
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern backend language and framework; strong coding, testing, and refactoring skills.
- Experience designing, versioning, and maintaining REST APIs; practical knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL or caching layers, and messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ or SQS.
- Working knowledge of cloud services, containers, CI/CD, and secure handling of customer data in a multi-tenant environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technically strong individual contributor comfortable leading through design, code, and mentorship without direct reports.
- Experienced in making system design trade-offs balancing simplicity, performance, and maintainability at scale.
- Proven track record of owning services end to end and delivering features from concept to production in a team environment.
