About This Role
- Own and operate Elixir backend services including APIs, workers, and background jobs to support partner integrations and core transaction workflows.
- Develop and maintain partner-facing REST APIs and frontend features using React and TypeScript, ensuring accuracy and reliability in money-adjacent systems such as loyalty points and settlements.
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams on deployment, monitoring, security, and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle while leveraging AI coding tools.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years backend development.
- At least 3 years production experience with Elixir, Phoenix, Ecto, and OTP, including shipping and maintaining production systems.
- Experience with React and TypeScript for at least 2 years, capable of independently delivering complete frontend features.
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise and familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3; working knowledge of Docker and CI/CD using GitHub Actions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in building and operating backend services for loyalty platforms, travel tech, payments, or FinTech domains.
- Comfortable using AI coding agents daily and validating code quality and security with strong technical judgement.
- Skilled in full software lifecycle ownership including system design, transactions integrity, and code/documentation quality in a remote, AI-first environment.
