About This Role
- Define and execute multi-year technology vision and architecture for enterprise-scale Data, AI, and software platforms supporting global Walmart operations.
- Lead architectural design, code and design reviews, platform security, governance, and modernization initiatives impacting multiple organizations and markets.
- Drive enterprise engineering excellence, mentor senior technical talent, and influence executive-level technology decisions and standards.
Minimum Requirements
- 15+ years experience in Software, Data, or Platform Engineering, Distributed Systems, or Enterprise Architecture.
- Hands-on coding experience in Java, Scala, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 6+ years in software engineering; or 8+ years experience without degree.
- Location requirement: Chennai office based with flexibility; work experience in global markets and regulated environments is expected.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven leader with deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, AI/ML platforms, security, governance, and large-scale platform transformations.
- Experienced at influencing senior executives and aligning large engineering organizations without direct authority.
- Background in mentoring senior technical leaders and driving engineering excellence across distributed teams in global/regulatory contexts.
