About This Role
- Act as the internal accounting expert supporting engineering, product, and design teams by answering accounting questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring accounting workflows align with real-world practices.
- Design, document, and validate core accounting rules, procedures, and automated features, including creating realistic test data and scenarios for product features and AI-driven automation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including product marketing and customer success) to review outputs, prototype AI tools, and maintain up-to-date accounting playbooks ensuring accuracy and operational relevance.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of accounting experience including managerial or equivalent responsibility in public accounting audit or industry (controllership, financial reporting, or close ownership).
- Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Hands-on multi-area close process expertise: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close across multiple domains.
- Primary work location: Pune onsite with flexibility for meetings across UK, US, and Australia time zones; experience with large multinational organizations involving multi-entity, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Comfortable being an authoritative accounting resource comfortable challenging senior engineers and product leaders with clear, reasoned explanations.
- Proficient in AI and automation tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) for prototyping, testing, and scaling accounting automation solutions.
- Experienced in working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Intacct) and translating accounting complexities into clear product requirements and test cases.
