About This Role
- Investigate and resolve complex software failures and performance issues through deep root-cause analysis across application, system, network, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Design, create, review, and execute performance test cases aligned with product architecture, customer workflows, and scalability goals, analyzing results to identify bottlenecks or regressions.
- Develop diagnostic tools, perform exploratory testing, and collaborate with developers to pinpoint root causes and recommend corrective actions, while mentoring other engineers in debugging methodologies.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, performance engineering, systems engineering, reliability engineering, or production troubleshooting, preferably in a product-based software company.
- Proficiency in programming/debugging in at least one major language such as Java, C++, C#, or Python, with strong ability to read and understand unfamiliar application code.
- Strong understanding of operating system concepts (processes, threads, memory, CPU, I/O, sockets, synchronization) and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, connection management).
- Experience with application profiling, performance analysis, diagnosing concurrency, latency, resource contention, scalability issues, and performance test case creation, review, and execution.
