About This Role
- Take end-to-end ownership of key backend infrastructure components, including architecture, implementation, production deployment, and iterative improvement.
- Design and build backend systems that operate reliably across multiple geographies with intermittent network connectivity and scale without fragmenting into country-specific systems.
- Influence engineering team practices by improving internal infrastructure, tooling, and technical decision-making to enhance speed and quality across the platform.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in backend software engineering with demonstrated ownership.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and backend engineering fundamentals including database schema design, query optimization, and performance.
- Solid understanding of reliability, testing, security, and production engineering.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of distributed systems and scalability concepts.

- Experienced with backend systems requiring high reliability under constrained or unreliable network conditions.
- Comfortable working autonomously on ambiguous problems from conception through production ownership.
