Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Own and continuously evolve the non-functional testing strategy covering performance, scalability, resilience, stability, and resource efficiency for telecom products.
- Design and execute realistic high-load test scenarios simulating mobile calls, data sessions, notifications, and complex operator environments to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Measure key performance metrics (throughput, latency, CPU/memory, GC, DB, network I/O), provide tuning recommendations, and maintain/test automation for non-functional testing suites.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong expertise in performance engineering for high-load, network-intensive or telecom-grade distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, bottleneck identification, and root cause analysis in production/staging.
- Solid understanding of OSI model, practical networking fundamentals, relational databases (indexing, SQL tuning, query optimization), and Linux resource usage (CPU, network, I/O).
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools like tcpdump, thread dumps, heap dumps, and Java class histograms relevant to performance analysis.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in telecom or network-intensive environments dealing with high transaction volumes and complex protocol behaviors.
- Demonstrates ability to simulate real-world telecom workloads including session surges, protocol latency, failover and multi-protocol interactions.
- Proficient at collaborating with development and operations teams to translate performance findings into actionable tuning or fixes across software and infrastructure layers.
