- Implement and enforce posting rules ensuring balanced journals, prevention of unauthorized value changes, and clear audit trails.
- Develop transaction processing and reconciliation controls for payments, card transactions, custody, blockchain events, and treasury systems, including operational workflows for data anomalies and audit support.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years backend engineering experience with payments, ledger, accounting, settlement, or core banking transactional systems.
- Experience building or operating double-entry ledgers, payment posting engines, settlement platforms, or equivalent financial record systems.
- Strong relational database and SQL skills (PostgreSQL or MySQL preferred) including schema modeling, transactions, concurrency, indexing, and recovery.
- Strong Java or Python experience; experience with event-driven systems, idempotency, distributed systems patterns, and financial transaction principles (journals, debits/credits, holds, reversals).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced working cross-functionally with finance, treasury, risk, compliance, and operations to translate business requirements into precise financial system models.
- Comfortable owning components of a financial-core system and applying rigorous technical design and safety practices for correctness and auditability.
- Preferably has exposure to stablecoins, digital assets, crypto custody, on-chain settlement, or regulated banking environments involving reconciliation with external systems and blockchain data.
