Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Design, implement, and debug Layer 2/3 control and data path features for NB-IoT/LTE protocols.
- Maintain MAC scheduler behavior for uplink/downlink grant decisions and optimize for NB-IoT constraints like coverage, latency, and power efficiency.
- Implement and validate UE/CELL state transitions driven by RRC and S1AP/X2AP signaling messages, and troubleshoot protocol interoperability and failure scenarios.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong understanding of 3GPP LTE/NB-IoT Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including MAC scheduling, HARQ, RACH, paging, RLC modes, PDCP functions, RRC procedures, and S1AP/X2AP signaling.
- Hands-on experience in C/C++ development for telecom or embedded networking stacks.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments, multithreading, shared-memory design, timers, state machines, protocol packet processing, and debugging packet traces/protocol logs.
- Work Experience Required: Not explicitly mentioned in the JD.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience with NB-IoT or LTE eNodeB stack development and familiarity with 3GPP specifications relevant to MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, S1AP, X2AP.
- Proficiency in low-latency, real-time scheduling and event-driven protocol processing, including scheduler optimization and throughput/latency tuning.
- Capability to work with vendor stacks and trace tools such as Wireshark and internal UE/eNB diagnostics.
