About This Role
- Own end-to-end preparation and filing of federal, multi-state, and local tax and payroll returns, ensuring zero penalties and audit readiness.
- Manage payroll processing and reconciliation for internal staff and W-2 consultants across all states, including oversight of payroll providers.
- Maintain compliance governance including tracking all filings, registrations, notices, and tax changes; report monthly status to CEO.
Minimum Requirements
- Active US CPA license with Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years hands-on experience preparing and filing US federal, multi-state, and payroll tax returns; minimum 2 years managing multiple states simultaneously.
- Direct experience filing IRS Forms 941, 940, W-2/1099, state withholding, and SUI returns.
- Willingness to work onsite in Ahmedabad on US Eastern Time shift meeting strict statutory deadlines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced working directly with complex multi-state payroll, tax filings, and compliance in fast-paced, detail-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with IT staffing or professional services sector, especially managing W-2 consultants through MSP/VMS programs.
- Proven ability to resolve IRS and state tax notices and lead penalty abatement efforts autonomously.
