About This Role
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable backend services and frontend web applications spanning the full software development lifecycle in PayPal's Sales Technology team.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations, focusing on backend technologies like Java/J2EE, Node.js, or Python, and front-end with TypeScript and React.js.
- Make technical decisions independently, guide junior engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve business outcomes such as faster approval cycles and reduced manual effort.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably 7+ years, including significant backend and full-stack development.
- Strong experience with at least one backend technology among Java/J2EE, Node.js, or Python.
- Proficiency in front-end development using TypeScript and React.js (or Next.js).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in building and optimizing scalable backend systems and responsive front-end interfaces in a product-focused engineering environment.
- Comfortable working with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and integrating third-party APIs.
- Capable of independent technical decision-making with prior experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams.
