About This Role
- Lead architectural decisions and best practices for building scalable, Java-based backend applications impacting Walmart associates worldwide.
- Drive design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation of large scale data processing solutions within established architectural guidelines ensuring Quality, Cost, and Delivery standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Architects, and global engineering to set product roadmap and build high performing agile teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related) with minimum 10+ years software design and development experience.
- Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Spark and experience in building scalable cloud-based backend systems.
- Experience in microservices architecture, distributed systems, CICD tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins) and databases including relational and NoSQL (Cosmos DB).
- Work Experience Required: Minimum 10+ years in software engineering; Location: Bangalore/Chennai, India.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Expert in high and low level system design of data intensive Java applications with strong understanding of microservices and distributed design.
- Experienced in operationalizing large scale backend systems with strong debugging, troubleshooting and testing skills using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
- Comfortable working globally with cross-functional teams and capable of driving product roadmaps and team hiring to build agile, high performing teams.
