About This Role
- Design, develop, and test Board Support Packages (BSP) and diagnostic software for Cisco Core and Edge routing products.
- Develop and maintain kernel and user space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals, including hardware bring-up on Linux.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes, validate software, and execute software test plans.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 12+ years experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years experience.
- Proficient in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
- Strong background in hardware and device driver development including Linux hardware bring-up, multi-threading, event handling, and state machine implementation.
- Experience with device drivers/protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and GPIO.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in working on embedded systems related to networking hardware with focus on BSP and device drivers development.
- Comfortable engaging in kernel debugging and using tools like GDB/KGDB.
- Able to manage software design lifecycle from concept through delivery for network routing products, with strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
