Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Develop flight-critical embedded software for a unique dual-motor thrust vectored tailsitter aircraft focused on autonomous operations and real-time control.
- Implement and optimize high-frequency control loops, sensor fusion algorithms, and low-level drivers for custom avionics hardware with strict memory and power constraints.
- Build communication protocols for ground station connectivity, telemetry streaming, and support autonomous navigation including computer vision and path planning.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-4 years of experience in embedded/firmware engineering, preferably in drones, robotics, or real-time systems.
- Expert in embedded C and modern C++14/17+, strong Python 3.8+ skills for scripting and computer vision tasks.
- Proficient with low-level MCU firmware development for I2C/SPI/GPIO/UART/CAN peripherals and embedded Linux (user/kernel space) with multithreading/multiprocessing.
- Hands-on experience with autopilot frameworks (ArduPilot/PX4), control theory including PID controllers, and SITL/HITL flight simulations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in building and optimizing embedded real-time control systems for aerial robotics or autonomous vehicles with strict timing requirements.
- Skilled at integrating complex sensor suites (IMUs, GPS, cameras) and developing robust communication in challenging RF environments.
- Familiar with safety-critical software engineering practices including test-driven development, profiling, and documentation for cross-functional collaboration.
