About This Role
- Lead technical direction and design for cross-border backend systems enabling multi-region marketplace transactions involving US, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Europe, and Japan.
- Own API architecture and service boundaries including backend-for-frontend (BFF) patterns for iOS, Android, and web clients across multiple teams.
- Ensure system reliability at 99.95% uptime, drive engineering speed and quality with AI-assisted coding and automation, and mentor senior engineers in AI-integrated development workflows.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 to 12 years of professional software engineering experience leading complex backend initiatives across multiple teams.
- Strong backend development skills in Go with deep experience in distributed systems on cloud-native platforms (GCP, Kubernetes).
- Proven delivery of large customer-facing products with system design expertise and production debugging experience operating at high availability (99.95%).
- Experience applying AI/LLMs to improve software engineering productivity, including AI-assisted code review, testing, or debugging.

- Experienced technical leader capable of influencing architecture across multiple teams without formal authority in a multi-national, multi-region marketplace environment.
- Hands-on engineer who remains close to implementation details while defining scalable technical strategies integrating AI-assisted development.
- Familiarity or interest in cross-border e-commerce complexities such as multi-currency payments, duties, taxes, and integration with third-party APIs at scale.
