About This Role
- Lead engineering teams to design, build, and operate Walmart’s core data platform enabling large-scale analytics and AI across 19 countries.
- Own technical roadmap, architecture, and delivery of scalable data services using Java, Python, Spark, and Big Data tech including batch and streaming pipelines.
- Drive integration of AI and GenAI capabilities into data workflows, ensure system scalability, reliability, security, and lead full software lifecycle including DevOps practices.
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years professional software engineering experience including large-scale data platforms and distributed systems.
- 4+ years engineering leadership experience managing teams through complex technical deliveries.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python; experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka; hands-on coding and debugging in production environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced leader able to define technical strategy and operating models in newly formed, ambiguous environments (0-to-1 scenarios).
- Deep expertise in Big Data architecture, cloud-native engineering (CI/CD, Kubernetes), reliability engineering, and AI/ML integration in production platforms.
- Proven ability building engineering culture with craftsmanship and ownership, strong cross-functional collaboration, and pragmatic application of emerging technologies.
