Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Design, engineer, and build Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) platform systems with AI capabilities that other engineering teams depend on critically.
- Manage live site monitoring, handle escalations, conduct detailed postmortems, and drive improvements in availability, scalability, and performance.
- Drive adoption of platforms by integrating with teams personally, removing friction, and iterating based on user feedback; own planning and process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of experience architecting and engineering large-scale, distributed commercial applications and services with customer success.
- Experience building complex internal platforms used critically by multiple teams at scale in a large company.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, Go, or Python, with solid CS fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and managed services; experience with databases like Azure SQL, CosmosDB, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Has demonstrable experience driving adoption of platforms by personally integrating and removing friction rather than just delivering features or documentation.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous patterns, and cloud programming.
- Experience with service-oriented/microservices architectures, modern engineering practices (agile, CI/CD, DevOps), and production Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus.
