About This Role
- Design, build, and operate backend services and data models for critical insurance systems ensuring high integrity and long-term data accuracy.
- Own integrations with external entities such as government, banking systems, and vendors, managing complex system interfaces.
- Establish and improve engineering practices, standards, and ways of working while managing production service reliability and incident analysis.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience building and operating backend systems in production with ownership of critical services.
- Degree in relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent English and working-level Japanese (JLPT N2 or native advantage).
- Experience with AWS, backend development using Java/Kotlin, Go, Python, or TypeScript on Node.js, and relational databases like PostgreSQL or Aurora.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Deep expertise in backend architecture focusing on transactional integrity, idempotency, reconciliation, and temporal data models.
- Experienced in complex external system integrations with immutable interfaces and managing batch and real-time processing with strict time windows.
- Comfortable working with legacy systems, modern cloud infrastructure (including IaC and CI/CD), and participating in cross-functional, product-focused environments.
