About This Role
- Design, build, and operate digital products and platforms supporting customer journeys, sales journeys, policy administration, and business workflows for Prudential Japan's life insurance value streams.
- Establish and drive engineering practices, standards, and ways of working within a newly formed Product Engineering organization.
- Collaborate closely with systems engineers, architects, and business partners to ensure product quality, reliability, and achievement of business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years in product engineering with genuine front-end depth using TypeScript and a modern framework (e.g., React, Next.js).
- Fluent to native English; working-level Japanese (JLPT N2 or native preferred).
- Experience with accessibility practices and designing workflows and state, not just UI screens.
- Degree in relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in end-to-end product engineering including front-end development, workflow design, and user research or direct observation.
- Comfortable working with legacy systems to decide what to wrap, replace, or leave alone, reflecting strong judgment in complex environments.
- Skilled in AWS ecosystem and capable of owning backend-for-frontend API layers; familiarity with testing frameworks and design systems appreciated.
