Senior IT Technologist - IT Digital Event Streaming Lead

Lead implementation and lifecycle management of Kafka-based event streaming platforms for real-time data integration across Science & Technology and Operation Innovation IT portfolios.

Architect, manage, and optimize scalable event-driven streaming architectures supporting ingestion, processing, and distribution in cloud, edge, and on-premises environments.

Establish governance, security, observability, performance standards, and support real-time analytics, automation, AI/ML through platform resilience and integration across teams.

Bachelor’s degree required.

7+ years of relevant experience with event streaming platforms, data integration technologies, or enterprise middleware solutions.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and supporting Confluent Kafka-based platforms in large-scale enterprise environments.

Experience applying security controls (TLS, mTLS, RBAC, service authentication, secrets management) and managing platform performance, governance, and high availability.

Experienced in managing hybrid environments combining cloud, edge, and on-premises streaming integration.

Proficient in cross-functional collaboration with application, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams for platform interoperability and governance.

Background or familiarity with regulated industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or medical devices preferred.
