Director - Principal Data Engineering Lead

Lead and evolve the enterprise-wide Data and AI strategy for drug development, including platform investments and capability roadmaps.

Partner with AI science teams to design scalable GenAI solutions and reusable agentic patterns that accelerate complex workflows.

Oversee multi-functional engineering teams to deliver compliant, production-grade AI and data systems with strong governance and monitoring frameworks.

Experience leading end-to-end delivery of AI-native products in a controlled or enterprise environment.

Proficiency in Python and knowledge of secure software engineering practices.

Hands-on experience with cloud data architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, SQL/NoSQL databases.

Work Location: Chennai, with expectation of minimum three days per week office presence.

Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams developing scalable, regulated AI/data platforms.

Deep expertise in GenAI or agent-based systems applied to industrial-scale production solutions.

Ability to influence senior partners and shape technology strategy across enterprise functions in a data-led R&D environment.
