Director, Software Engineering - Agentic AI

Own and drive the delivery-engine product roadmap including orchestrator, agent fleet, consoles, dashboards, and enterprise integrations from MVP to organization-wide scale.

Build, hire, and lead small, distributed engineering pods across the UK and India focusing on agent engineering, platform engineering, and delivery talent using lean, agent-first engineering practices.

Establish and maintain operating standards such as evals as release gates, human-in-the-loop approvals, responsible AI governance, and prove business value through metrics like cycle time, throughput, quality, and cost efficiency.

12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading engineering teams or engineering-led products.

Experience shipping and scaling enterprise platforms or products from initial release through adoption.

Hands-on expertise with modern AI technologies, including LLM-powered applications and agentic systems.

Proven hiring and talent development capabilities in building distributed teams.

Demonstrated ability to operate as a player-coach balancing product vision, architecture, team leadership, and executive communication simultaneously.

Experience with AI-first or automation platform delivery particularly in regulated or security-conscious enterprise environments is preferred.

Track record of setting engineering operating standards and driving adoption of agent-first ways of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
