Implement and maintain scalable, revenue-critical backend payment features including charges, refunds, disputes, and webhooks.

Refactor and modernize legacy payment services, improve test coverage, and migrate from deprecated APIs.

Deliver well-tested, production-ready code adhering to sprint cycles and collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams.

3+ years backend software engineering experience building and operating production backend services at scale.

Strong proficiency in Java; complementary skills in Kotlin and Python.

Experience in payments, fintech, or billing domains involving gateways, processors, or payment service providers.

Candidates must be based in India or a nearby APAC location within ±2 hours of IST and able to support IST working hours (preferably 10 AM to 7 PM).

Experienced in designing and delivering end-to-end backend payment flows in production environments.

Skilled in refactoring legacy systems with regression testing and incident resolution in payment or billing systems.

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a remote, sprint-based, cross-functional engineering environment.
