Software Engineer - Data Science & AI

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and agentic components for Euromonitor's AI platform, focusing on reusable components used across multiple product teams.

Implement retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and retrieval features such as data ingestion, chunking, indexing pipelines, and search integration.

Support evaluation and experimentation in data science methods related to ranking, retrieval, and prompt changes under senior mentorship.

3-6 years of software engineering experience or strong internship/project evidence with fundamentals in data structures, API development, and testing.

Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of SQL with clean coding practices.

Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and generative AI tools including prompting, RAG basics, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or LangChain.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and container technologies; foundational understanding of Machine Learning concepts including embeddings, evaluation metrics, and basics of ranking or NLP.

Engineer with backend and AI engineering focus, comfortable iterating within a team using best practices like versioning, documentation, and telemetry.

Experience or interest in working on platform-level reusable AI components impacting multiple products rather than single-feature development.
