Sr. Principal Software Engineer

Serve as the senior technical leader for the India-based Markets Data Lake (MDL) engineering team, setting technical direction and ensuring alignment with global platform roadmaps.

Own end-to-end regional delivery of major platform initiatives focused on data governance, authorization, and data-mesh capabilities, coordinating globally and building local domain ownership.

Architect and enforce federated computational governance and authorization models across MDL, including data product lifecycle, policy-as-code frameworks, fine-grained entitlements, and secure, engine-agnostic platform design.

10+ years of software engineering experience with significant time architecting large-scale data platforms.

Demonstrated regional/site technical leadership anchoring a distributed engineering team, preferably with experience in India and cross-time zone coordination.

Deep expertise in data governance and authorization at scale, including fine-grained access controls (row/column-level security), data classification, lineage, audit, and identity/OAuth2 token-based authorization.

Proficiency in backend programming language (Python, Java, Go, or similar) and policy-as-code tooling.

Experienced in managing and growing senior engineering talent within a global delivery or India hub model, establishing engineering culture and career pathways locally.

Strong strategic and technical expertise in data-mesh architecture, federated governance, and building platform-agnostic secure data products for regulated environments.

Proven ability to bridge global and regional priorities, representing local teams in hiring, technical strategy, and delivering scalable, compliant data governance across financial services or similarly complex domains.
