Sr. Principal Software Engineer

Lead regional technical direction and delivery for India-based Markets Data Lake (MDL) engineering team focused on data governance, authorization, and data-mesh architecture.

Own end-to-end delivery and technical leadership of critical governance and authorization platform capabilities, including design and enforcement of data product contracts, policies-as-code, and entitlements.

Set technical standards, mentor senior engineers, and bridge India and global teams to ensure integrated, secure, and scalable data platform operations.

10+ years of software engineering experience with significant architecture experience on large-scale data platforms.

Proven regional or site technical leadership experience managing distributed teams, preferably in India, with cross-time zone delivery.

Deep expertise in data governance and authorization at scale, including fine-grained entitlements (row/column level), ABAC/RBAC, data classification, lineage, and audit.

Proficiency in backend programming (Python, Java, Go, or similar), SQL, policy-as-code tooling, and strong communication skills including design documentation and stakeholder management.

Experienced leader skilled in scaling and mentoring senior engineering talent within a global delivery or India hub model.

Strong background in architecting secure, governed, engine-agnostic cloud-based data platforms with federated data-mesh governance.

Demonstrated ability to operationalize complex data governance and authorization models into automated, policy-driven systems with auditability and regulatory compliance focus.
