Senior Principal Engineer - Database Administration

Provide Level 2 operational support for Databricks analytics platform on AWS and Azure including Unity Catalog governance.

Monitor and maintain platform health, troubleshoot issues, handle incidents and service requests, and perform standard platform changes using ITSM processes.

Collaborate with Cloud and Data Engineering teams to ensure platform stability, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and maintain documentation such as runbooks and SOPs.

7-10 years of experience in platform operations, cloud operations, or data platform support with exposure to Databricks and/or Apache Spark.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Hands-on troubleshooting skills with Databricks clusters, jobs, libraries, and Spark configurations; working knowledge of AWS and Azure fundamentals including IAM, networking, and storage.

Experience with ITIL-aligned practices (incident, problem, change management) and scripting/automation skills in Python, PySpark or PowerShell.

Experienced in multi-cloud environments supporting analytics platforms, especially with expertise in Databricks and Unity Catalog governance.

Strong operational discipline with structured troubleshooting, incident handling, and adherence to SLAs in a production environment.

Collaborative communicator able to work effectively across Cloud, Security, and Data Engineering teams and maintain clear documentation.
