Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst (Azure Synapse & Data Platform)

Own interrogation and validation of foundational data products in an enterprise data platform to assess and ensure data completeness, correctness, and consistency.

Write complex SQL queries to profile and validate data across multiple platform layers, trace data lineage end-to-end, and identify data quality issues including gaps and discrepancies.

Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to produce documented gap analyses, support data governance, and inform re-engineering decisions based on data quality assessments.

5-8+ years of experience in data analyst, analytics engineering, or BI engineering roles with a strong technical focus.

Expert-level SQL skills including complex analytical queries with multi-table joins, window functions, and recursive logic.

Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL Pool or Serverless SQL), Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake, and knowledge of medallion/lakehouse architectures.

Work mode: Hybrid based in Pune.

Experienced in operating within enterprise-scale data environments involving complex, undocumented, or legacy datasets.

Strong analytical and documentation skills to translate technical observations into actionable gap analyses and data quality assessments for both technical and business stakeholders.

Comfortable bridging engineering and business teams, with detailed understanding of data platform architecture and data governance practices, preferably with insurance or financial services domain exposure.
