Platform Software Engineer (Networking Systems)

Architect and build system software for high-performance Ethernet switching platforms, owning design decisions end-to-end for reliability and performance.

Own platform software architecture and delivery within JunOS or Junos Evolved, defining interfaces between hardware and software components across the networking stack.

Lead root-cause analysis and fixes for production issues, collaborating with test and support teams to improve platform quality and customer experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related discipline; Master's degree desirable.

4-10 years of relevant experience in low-level systems and networking software development.

Deep knowledge of device drivers, board/system bring-up, FreeBSD/Linux internals, and debugging cross-layer failures (hardware/firmware/OS).

Strong C/C++ skills and working knowledge of hardware/firmware interfaces (PCIe, SPI, I2C, FPGA/CPLD).

Experienced in end-to-end platform software architecture and collaborative delivery in complex networking systems.

Proficient in applying AI-assisted tooling throughout system design, implementation, testing, and production triage to enhance speed and quality.

Able to document decisions with lightweight design artifacts and effectively translate hardware datasheets into robust software abstractions.
