Software Engineer III - Automation Test Engineer + Mainframe

Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for core banking mainframe applications to ensure stability and scalability.

Automate tests modeling real-world client usage across multiple technologies, validating system capacity and resilience.

Collaborate with stakeholders to review requirements, identify optimization opportunities, and present technical findings including risks and performance bottlenecks.

3+ years of applied experience in software engineering with formal training or certification.

Hands-on experience in mainframe manual testing and operational stability, including performance testing concepts.

Experience building test approaches, plans, and scenarios with a focus on application performance and scalability.

Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to validate and refine AI-generated outputs.

Experienced in testing complex legacy platforms involving mainframe technologies such as zSeries and IBM MQ.

Operates effectively within agile software development life cycles including CI/CD and incorporates automation and AI-enabled tools.

Capable of understanding client behavior, application dependencies across multiple tech stacks, and applying advanced performance testing methods including load modeling and chaos engineering.
