Director, International Controllership

Lead and oversee end-to-end Record-to-Report (RTR) accounting, close, financial reporting, balance sheet governance, and audit support for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Hyderabad Accounting COE.

Manage a large team (~5 Senior Managers and ~50 total accounting staff), responsible for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement, including transition and scaling of controllership activities from other regions.

Partner with internal stakeholders (Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, GBS) to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial outcomes while maintaining strong controls and SOX compliance.

Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification mandatory.

At least 18 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including minimum 8 years in supervisory or leadership roles.

Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SOX controls, intercompany and foreign currency accounting, with proven experience in RTR and balance sheet governance in a multinational, matrixed environment.

Work Location: Hyderabad; Work hours primarily 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. IST Monday to Friday with possible extended hours due to business needs.

Experienced leader capable of managing large, complex accounting teams and driving organizational transformation including finance process standardization, automation, and system implementation.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills for collaborating across global finance functions and business leaders in a fast-paced, matrixed multinational environment.

Balance of deep technical accounting expertise with practical business partnership and decision-making under deadline pressure.
