Own end-to-end design and implementation of system software for high-performance Ethernet switching platforms, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
Drive architecture and integration across core networking subsystems like chassis, line-card platform services, Ethernet interfaces, and system infrastructure within JunOS or Junos Evolved.
Lead root-cause analysis and fixes for production issues, collaborating closely with test and support teams to uphold platform quality and customer experience.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field; Master’s degree desirable.
4-10 years of relevant experience in low-level systems software development and networking platforms.
Deep experience with device drivers, system bring-up, FreeBSD/Linux internals, strong C/C++ skills, and hardware/firmware interfaces (PCIe, SPI, I2C, FPGA/CPLD).
Hybrid work model requiring average 2 days per week onsite at HPE office.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in architecting and delivering complex system software for networking hardware with ownership from design to production support.
Familiar with AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve design, implementation, debugging, and production triage processes.
Strong systems debugging skills with ability to isolate hardware/firmware/OS issues and optimize for concurrency, performance, and reliability.
