Principal MTS - Distributed Databases

Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for NuData's distributed database platforms, driving key initiatives and ownership of core components.

Design, implement, and maintain critical distributed database features, ensuring scalability, availability, and performance at eBay's global scale.

Mentor and develop senior engineers and technical leads in Bengaluru, establish engineering best practices, and collaborate across global teams to align on technical strategy.

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with significant industry experience, or PhD with equivalent experience in distributed systems.

Significant hands-on experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed databases or storage systems with technical leadership of complex projects.

Expertise in distributed systems concepts including consensus protocols (Raft/Paxos), replication, fault tolerance, geo-distribution, and transaction management.

Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Java, Python, or Scala; experience with cloud-native tech (Kubernetes, Docker).

Senior technical leader with proven ability to set and communicate architecture across global distributed engineering teams.

Deep domain expertise in distributed database internals and operations at large scale with a balance of strategic vision and hands-on implementation.

Experience mentoring senior engineers and steering engineering standards to build high-quality, scalable distributed systems in a complex, cross-functional environment.
