Administer and optimize PostgreSQL database environments across development, testing, and production on Microsoft Azure.
Design, implement, and support scalable, highly available, and secure database solutions with focus on backup, recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and migration.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support application deployments and automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages like SQL, Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Terraform.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in Database Administration focused on PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL and Azure cloud services including migration, upgrade, patching, backup, and recovery solutions.
Experience with Linux and/or Windows server administration supporting database platforms; knowledge of database security best practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication, and troubleshooting in cloud environments (especially Azure).
Experienced in automating DBA tasks and supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance in enterprise settings.
Capable of collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams including application development, infrastructure, and DevOps for database-related deployments and issue resolution.
