Lead socio-economic workstreams delivering baseline studies, impact assessments, and mitigation frameworks for major infrastructure, energy, mining, and transition projects.
Perform economic appraisal including job and GVA quantification and social value analysis to support client business cases, funding bids, and consent applications.
Manage small project teams and coordinate between Consulting Delivery Hub and regional consultants to meet project scope, timing, budget, and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in economics, human geography, sociology, planning, public policy, development studies or closely related social science discipline; master's preferred.
2–3 years of relevant consulting, research, or policy experience with proven track record delivering socio-economic analysis, impact assessment, or economic appraisal outputs.
Proven ability to draft socio-economic baseline and impact assessment chapters for EIA/ESIA or equivalent economic appraisal/business case documentation.
Sound knowledge of UK/Irish EIA and consenting regimes (e.g. DCO, Section 36, TCPA, Planning (Wales) Act) and/or international standards (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience leading socio-economic assessments for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), DCOs, or ESIA socio-economics aligned with international frameworks like IFC PS or Equator Principles.
Comfortable managing discrete workstreams or small teams including planning, budgeting, quality control, and client communication within a global or shared service consulting environment.
Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills using UK/Ireland economic and demographic datasets and applying HM Treasury Green Book economic appraisal principles.
