Own reliability, performance, and modernization of critical American Express platforms across Mainframe and Distributed environments.
Design, develop, automate, and support enterprise software solutions and operational tooling including incident management and root cause analysis.
Drive platform health through monitoring KPIs/SLOs, applying SRE principles, and improving platform resiliency, scalability, and security.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of mainframe experience with IBM Mainframe technologies (z/OS, JCL, CICS, DB2, RACF, etc.) mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with software engineering, app support, or runtime/infrastructure operations including scripting (Python, REXX, Bash).
Work Experience Required: 5+ years mainframe; Cloud and distributed platform experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven track record supporting and modernizing enterprise Mainframe platforms with hybrid cloud/distributed architectures.
Strong operational expertise in runtime engineering including incident management, automation, and observability tools (Splunk, OMEGAMON, Dynatrace, etc).
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable technology solutions.
