Review and quality assure global cargo survey reports for completeness, accuracy, and evidentiary support to aid claims assessment and liability determination.
Identify gaps or inconsistencies in survey investigations and coordinate with surveyors to obtain necessary clarifications or additional evidence.
Analyze survey findings to identify recovery opportunities, recurring cargo damage trends, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Logistics, Insurance, Law, or relevant discipline.
3-5 years of experience in cargo surveying, marine/cargo claims, shipping operations, marine insurance, container operations, or similar maritime role.
Knowledge of logistics, marine transportation, International Maritime Law/Conventions, and containerized cargo transportation damage mechanisms.
English proficiency (verbal & written) and proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience working in cargo survey companies, P&I correspondents, marine insurers, or shipping companies preferred.
Strong investigative skills with ability to critically assess technical reports, photographs, data logs, and documentation for causation and liability determination.
Demonstrates good commercial judgment balancing claim exposure with survey requirements and cost proportionality, able to manage high volume of reports with urgency and ownership.
