Data Platform - Capability Engineer - Assistant Vice President

Design, build, and operate modern data platform capabilities including lakehouse, batch, streaming, metadata/catalog, security, and governed consumption layers.

Develop scalable batch and streaming pipelines using Apache Spark, Snowflake, and/or Databricks with a focus on performance, reliability, reusability, and cost efficiency.

Lead a small team/pod and own operational stability, including incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and platform reliability improvements.

14+ years in software/data engineering with BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.

Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and SQL; Java/Scala knowledge is a plus.

Proven experience delivering lakehouse/data platform solutions on Databricks and/or Snowflake on AWS (GCP or Azure acceptable).

Experience with Apache Iceberg, Spark batch/streaming development, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), automated testing, and operational on-call/incident response.

Deep expertise in large-scale data platform architecture with strong distributed computing and cloud architecture skills.

Experience working closely with Product, Analytics, ML, and business SMEs to define data contracts, SLAs, governance, and AI-ready data assets.

Technical leadership capability to mentor and oversee team delivery and enforce disciplined software and data engineering practices.
