Principal Software App Engineer - Yahoo Mail

Design, develop, test, and ship new features for Yahoo Mail's Android mobile app used by millions globally.

Own projects end-to-end including technical design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Drive technical decisions, mentor teammates, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions and exceptional user experiences.

8+ years experience building consumer-facing Android, mobile, or web applications.

Deep expertise in Android development using Kotlin and Java, including Android framework components, lifecycles, and Jetpack Compose.

Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.

Strong background in Android app development for consumer-scale products, preferably with experience in email or communication apps.

Experience working with AI-powered development tools integrated in daily workflows.

Proven ability to take ownership of large features and lead technical initiatives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
