Analyze and monitor security events and alerts, recommending remediation actions to contain and resolve threats.
Investigate intrusion attempts by correlating multiple data sources to identify affected systems or data.
Follow and improve standard procedures for detecting, documenting, and reporting security incidents within Oportun's 24/7 Cyber Security Operations Center.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, OR 2–5 years relevant SOC, incident response, or cyber forensics experience.
Minimum 2 years prior SOC experience including relevant internships.
Experience with Splunk SIEM and analyzing logs from firewalls, proxies, EDR platforms.
Work must be performed remotely from India; candidates based in or willing to relocate to India only.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment prioritizing competing tasks within a security operations center.
Strong technical knowledge of network architecture, TCP/IP, OSI layers, intrusion detection systems, and common malware categories.
Experience collaborating with engineering, network, and application teams and openness to improving workflows using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
