Principal Engineer - MCP/ACP Layer(API & AI Orchestration)

Architect and evolve the MCP/ACP ecosystem enabling standardized, agent-consumable AI tools integration with ABC Fitness systems.

Design and implement reusable AI workflow orchestration patterns focusing on predictability, safety, observability, and auditability including retries and state management.

Set company-wide standards for AI interaction, security, permissions, and build instrumentation for tracing and improving orchestration success.

10+ years software engineering experience, ideally in principal range (8-14 years) with distributed backend systems, APIs, orchestration layers, or platform infrastructure.

Proven experience designing and operating high-scale backend systems with state management, concurrency, reliability, and distributed execution patterns.

Strong expertise in AI tool interaction patterns including schema design, predictable execution, and orchestration reliability.

Work Experience Required: 10+ years in relevant software engineering roles

Experienced in designing abstraction layers and wrapping legacy/complex systems with clean, scalable interfaces supporting AI orchestration.

Skilled at defining technical standards and influencing architecture across multiple cross-functional teams including product, platform, infrastructure, security, and SRE.

Able to deliver scalable, observable, secure, and auditable AI-native platform capabilities accelerating AI adoption enterprise-wide.
