Build and maintain production Java and Spring Boot backend services for a payments platform with distributed financial systems.
Deliver new payment features, bug fixes, and reliability improvements with production-ready code through GitLab CI pipelines.
Improve observability, resilience, and support safe canary and production deployments using Datadog monitors as deployment quality gates.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot in production microservices and distributed systems.
Experience with Apollo Java/Kotlin GraphQL client and building or maintaining event-driven services using AWS SQS, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Strong experience with JPA/Hibernate, Spring Data JPA, MySQL/Aurora, transactional design, schema migrations, and writing unit/integration tests with JUnit 5 and Mockito.
Candidates must be based in an eligible APAC location with working-hour coverage aligned to India Standard Time (IST).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Mid-to-senior engineer with demonstrated ownership of production financial-grade backend services emphasizing correctness, idempotency, and consistency.
Experienced in designing idempotent event handlers and reasoning about transactional boundaries across external third-party billing platforms and internal stores.
Familiar with operational deployment tooling (GitLab CI/CD, JaCoCo, Datadog) and responsible use of AI coding assistants to maintain code quality.
