AI Lead / Engineering Manager

Lead a small engineering team delivering AI-driven product capabilities, owning delivery timelines, workload allocation, and team coordination to ensure production-quality shipping.

Set and enforce technical standards for AI-native development covering observability, testing, security, scalable architecture, and timeboxing of AI work.

Hands-on role involving coding, architecture decisions, and partnership with Product and leadership to define priorities and technical planning.

7+ years of software engineering experience with production shipping of AI-powered features, covering full lifecycle from problem framing to post-launch.

Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or similar AI techniques in live systems.

Proven leadership experience leading delivery for a small team, ideally 2-3 years in engineering management, tech lead, or player-coach role.

Strong fullstack skills including frontend, backend, scalable data pipelines, observability, testing rigor, and production readiness practices (Docker, CI/CD).

Experience balancing hands-on AI feature development with engineering team leadership and delivery management in a high-trust, ambiguous environment.

Strong technical vision who raises engineering standards through direct, specific feedback and enforces disciplined delivery with timeboxed AI experimentation.

Comfortable making key architecture decisions related to AI models, integration, and tradeoffs between quality, cost, and latency, alongside building scalable systems and pipelines.
