Implement and maintain security controls and policies for API environments including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and event-driven interfaces across cloud and hybrid deployments.
Conduct API security assessments, threat modeling, and support integration of API security into CI/CD pipelines for early discovery of vulnerabilities.
Monitor API behavior for anomalies and abuse, support incident response related to API security, and collaborate with development teams to operationalize secure API design.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience with minimum 2 years related work experience.
Intermediate experience with API security assessments and API gateway tools (e.g., WSO2, Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
Working knowledge of security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Postman) and security observability tools (Traceable AI, Salt Security).
Working knowledge of cloud API and security services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced security professional with a focus on API security within enterprise or hybrid cloud environments.
Skilled in integrating security tools and automation into DevOps processes, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Capable of cross-team collaboration to enforce security standards, conduct threat modeling, and contribute to incident response and security governance documentation.
