About This Role
- Design, code, and optimize Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding features within the IOS-XR platform focused on high performance with NPUs.
- Implement and optimize data plane logic for packet processing using NPU microcode and SDKs.
- Debug complex software issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply AI-assisted modern development practices to improve productivity and code quality.
Minimum Requirements
- 5-10 years of embedded software development experience for networking products.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong Embedded C programming skills; Python scripting for test automation.
- Expertise in NPU-based data plane architectures and forwarding protocols including QoS, Mirroring, OAM, EVPN, VPLS, SRv6, Segment Routing, MPLS.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in carrier-grade network operating systems like IOS-XR and service provider core/peering router deployments.
- Capable of low-level debugging involving hardware/software interactions and memory management.
- Proficient with CI/CD, version control, debugging tools (e.g., GDB, Valgrind), and leveraging AI/ML tools for software engineering tasks.
