Data Engineer Consultant Senior

Design, build, and support Microsoft Fabric and Azure data and analytics solutions for clients, owning substantial engineering workstreams from design through production support.

Translate business needs into secure, scalable, maintainable technical designs and implement data pipelines using SQL, Python, or PySpark following good engineering practices.

Mentor junior engineers, promote reusable patterns, lead detailed design sessions, and communicate technical progress and risks to stakeholders.

5+ years experience as a Data Engineer Consultant Senior or equivalent in data engineering roles.

Hands-on experience delivering data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Data Factory.

Proficient in SQL development, Python or PySpark, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and use of tools like Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and source control.

Experience owning and delivering substantial technical workstreams independently within Agile delivery environments.

Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex data engineering components and manage technical risks with clear architectural decisions.

Experience working in client-facing consultancy or multidisciplinary delivery teams with stakeholder communication and technical documentation.

Proficiency in mentoring colleagues, conducting constructive design/code reviews, and promoting engineering standards and reusable patterns.
