Lead day-to-day U.S. state and local sales and use tax, lodging, hotel tax compliance, and international indirect tax obligations for Expedia Group, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Act as senior indirect tax operations resource in Bangalore, guiding junior team members and collaborating with cross-regional teams and external advisors.
Drive process improvements and automation using tax technology tools; support indirect tax projects including advisory, financial reporting, and research.
Minimum Requirements
5–8 years of experience in tax, preferably corporate tax department or public accounting with marketplace platform compliance including U.S. indirect tax.
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field; Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA or equivalent preferred.
Fluency in English and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems like Oracle, indirect tax compliance software, and data analytics tools preferred.
Role based in Bangalore with hybrid working model; in-office presence required at least three days a week.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in managing multi-jurisdictional indirect tax compliance with focus on U.S. state/local and international tax issues in a large, complex, global company environment.
Proven ability to lead and mentor junior team members informally while managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships and external advisors.
Comfortable using and enhancing tax technology and automation for data analysis, process improvement, and reporting in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
