Lead and provide high-level consultation for complex systems operations and infrastructure initiatives, focusing on mainframe technologies.
Make technical decisions on system changes and enhancements, collaborating with engineering teams and management to resolve escalated system support issues.
Drive incident management including incident recovery calls, process improvements, automation scripting (REXX), data analysis using SQL, and continuous monitoring strategy refinement.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent through work experience, training, military service, or education.
Solid expertise in mainframe maintenance and support, including knowledge of IBM utilities and mainframe operating systems (MVS, z/OS).
Technical familiarity with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, SPUFI, QMF, ENDEVOR, CA-7, MQ, and NDM.
Experience with incident, problem, and change management tools like ServiceNow; knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics) is highly desirable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in large-scale mainframe environment operations with strong technical and operational ownership of system stability and incident management.
Comfortable leading cross-functional coordination with application support teams and managing risk through change management and continuous process improvements.
Skilled in automation and scripting (particularly REXX) to reduce manual tasks and in data-driven root cause analysis using SQL and monitoring tools.
