Job Description
Structured overview of role & requirementsAbout This Role
Lead development and deployment of advanced Arc Management & Simulation (AMS) capabilities for electrical power distribution products, including multiphysics plasma modeling and experimentation.
Drive AMS technology roadmap execution by developing niche simulation methods, improving model maturity, and validating models with experimental data.
Deploy validated simulation tools to optimize product designs, reduce physical testing, development cycle time, and engineering costs, while mentoring engineers and collaborating globally.
Minimum Requirements
PhD or Masters in Plasma Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computational Engineering, or related field.
7-10 years of relevant industry or research experience in plasma physics, arc physics, experimentation, and modeling/simulation.
Proven skills in plasma/arc experimentation, multiphysics simulation (CFD, FEM, MHD), programming (C/C++, Python/Perl, F90), and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, OpenFOAM).
Work Experience Required: 7-10 years as per qualifications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Expertise in plasma physics and arc management applied to electrical power distribution products, capable of technical leadership and mentoring.
Experience driving simulation technology roadmaps and executing complex multiphysics model development, validation, and deployment.
Proven ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams and translate simulation results into actionable product design improvements.
